Newcastle Red Bulls have confirmed the signing of Northampton Saints back-row forward Sam Graham, who will arrive at Kingston Park this summer on a two-year contract.
The 28-year-old joins from Northampton after four seasons at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens, where he established himself as a reliable and physical presence in the PREM.
Graham played a key role in Saints’ Gallagher Premiership title-winning campaign in 2024, making 20 starts during the season and contributing significantly to their success.
Before cementing his place with Northampton, he impressed in the Championship with Doncaster Knights and Hartpury, earning his PREM opportunity through consistent performances. He also previously spent time with Bristol Bears earlier in his career.
A West Country native, Graham began his rugby journey at Chippenham RFC and balanced his rise in the professional game with work outside rugby, including time as a professional chef.
Speaking ahead of his move, Graham said he was looking forward to joining a club with growing momentum, citing the atmosphere at Kingston Park and the ambition shown following the Red Bulls takeover.
“I’ve played up at Kingston Park a number of times throughout in my career and have always had a lot of respect for the guys there, and the way the supporters get behind their team.
“The place looks like it’s buzzing on a match day with everything surrounding Red Bull’s takeover, and I experienced it myself when Saints went up there earlier in the season".
