Sale Sharks name Steve Diamond as interim chief executive

Sale Sharks have confirmed that director of rugby Steve Diamond will be appointed as interim chief executive of the Gallagher Premiership club.

The decision follows after CEO Jon Dorsett has gone into self isolation following the outbreak of coronavirus.

“During this challenging time, I hope the Sharks family are all safe and looking out for one another,” Diamond told the club website.

The statement also revealed that Carrington Training Centre and the AJ Bell Stadium have been closed.

Sale Sharks are positioned second in the Gallagher Premiership with eight wins from 13 games but the competition has been suspended at least until 24th April.
