Australia head coach Dave Rennie has confirmed that veteran playmaker Quade Cooper will be part of the European tour next month where they will face Scotland, England and Wales.

Making a comeback to the Wallabies squad after a hiatus of four years, Cooper straightaway made an impact in the Rugby Championship where they went on to complete a double against South Africa and Argentina.

The 33-year-old also slotted two conversions and a penalty in the recently concluded game against Japan in Oita on Saturday which Rennie's men went on to win 32-23.

Initially Cooper was expected to miss the November series for Australia due to his commitments with Japanese side Kintetsu Liners but Rennie revealed that he will be travelling with the squad.

Meanwhile, Reece Hodge had to leave the field against Japan early in the 13th minute after sustaining a pectoral injury and Rennie said the Rebels star will be assessed in the coming days on the extent of the damage.

"The plan is he'll travel and we'll assess," said Rennie of Hodge's injury.

"We've got a couple of weeks until we play Scotland, so that will buy us some time to get clarity around what we do long term."
