Ospreys have announced that prop Tom Botha has signed a new two-year contract with the Welsh province.

Botha joined Ospreys in 2018 and has gone on to play 74 games scoring a solitary try during his time with the club.

A product of Western Province Under 18 Academy, Botha also has the experience of playing for Cheetahs and Southern Kings before heading to Liberty Stadium.

“I have been with the Ospreys for four years and I really like where we are going since Toby arrived here," he told the club's official website.

“We have really improved as a squad and this is just the start of the programme he has put in place here.

“The Ospreys is now my home from home and the boys have been really good to me and everybody gets along here.

“I know I have improved as a player but you can always do more and improve to be a better player."

Ospreys head coach Toby Booth believes Botha's contract extension will add to the squad's depth.

“Tom’s reputation as a powerful scrummager adds real edge to our scrum which is critical in giving us a solid platform in a key area of our game. This will help us thrive and drive consistency in our performances.”

Ospreys are positioned 11th in the United Rugby Championship table with seven wins from 14 matches.
