England captain and Saracens star Owen Farrell will face a disciplinary hearing on Tuesday following his red-card incident in the recently concluded Gallagher Premiership game against Wasps at Allianz Park.
Farrell was sent-off in the 61st minute for a high tackle on Charlie Atkinson with the Wasps replacement fullback leaving the field.
The 28-year-old though stood on the side of the pitch until Atkinson got up and apologised to him for the tackle.
Farrell has now been charged with a breach of World Rugby Law 9.13 and will appear before a three-man disciplinary panel comprising of Mike Hamlin (chair) with Gareth Graham and Leon Lloyd.
His absence proved costly for Saracens as they went on to lose the encounter 18-28 after being 15-15 before the incident.
Saracens will face Sale Sharks and Exeter Chiefs in the final two rounds of the Gallagher Premiership before taking on Leinster in the quarter-final of the Heineken Champions Cup at Aviva Stadium in Dublin on 19th September.
