Racing 92's preparation for the Heineken Champions Cup clash against Exeter Chiefs to be played on 17th October at Ashton Gate has been dealt a blow with the French club confirming nine positive cases in the camp.

The nine cases include both staff and members and as a result their upcoming Top 14 game against La Rochelle has been postponed already and now they await the fate of their participation in the all-important Champions Cup final game.

A tweet from the official handle of the club confirmed the number of positive cases and as a result all the staff members and players have been placed on isolation at home and at the training centre for a minimum of five days.

“Tests carried out on the entire professional group on Wednesday morning revealed several positive cases,” read the tweet.

“We are now awaiting the recommendations of the LNR (Ligue Nationale de Rugby), which we will apply with all the necessary rigour''.

Earlier, Racing 92 edged out Saracens 19-15 in the semi-final of the Champions Cup to set up the final against Exeter Chiefs, who defeated Toulouse 28-18 in their play-off game.
