Scorecard

Fly-half Nicholas Sanchez contributed with 29 points as Argentina registered a comfortable 20-54 victory over Japan in Tokyo on Sautrday.

Matias Moroni and Sanchez crossed the line in the first half with the fly-half converting his own try and added three more penalties to take Argentina to 21 points at half-time. Fly-half Yu Tamura's double penalty was the only points for Japan in the first half as they trailed by 15 points.

There was no respite whatsoever for Japan as wing Santiago Cordero and Moroni rumbled across the post while Sanchez added the extras in the first 10 minutes of the second half as Argentina stretched the lead to 29 points.

Number eight Amanaki Mafi's try in the 52nd minute gave some momentum to Japan but Sanchez and Cordero strolled across the line for the second time in the game to take a massive 34-point lead for the visitors.

Replacement Tomas Cubelli scored the seventh try for Argentina but his efforts were negated by Japan wing Lomano Lemeki. Japan eventually succumbed to a 34-point defeat.

Argentina will take on Wales next at Millennium Stadium while Japan will lock horns with Georgia at Tbilisi with both the games scheduled on 12th November.
