New Zealand head coach Ian Foster expressed confidence on his side's chances to seal the series against Ireland when the two teams meet in Dunedin on Saturday.

The All Blacks have already claimed a 1-0 lead in the series following a 42-19 win in the opening game riding on a double from Ardie Savea and touchdowns from Jordie Barrett, Sevu Reece, Quinn Tupaea and Pita Sowakula.

Foster will miss the experience of Sam Whitelock, who is ruled out of the encounter after diagnosed with a delayed concussion. As a result Scott Barrett was shifted from flank to second row with Dalton Papalii drafted into the XV.

Ireland also made a solitary change with Mack Hansen returning back in the place of Keith Earls.

"The second week is always tough, it's a three-Test programme. We want to win the series so that means this week, for us," said Foster.

"We saw last week that there were two very good rugby teams on the park.

"The nice thing is that we know how much they want it.

"We saw that on Saturday so we know they are going to be desperate to keep the series alive and so we shouldn’t be surprised that we have to go up and progress and we’ve spoken about that.

"Talking is one thing and doing is another thing, but we’re pretty determined."
