Chris Boyd joins Munster Rugby as Performance Consultant

Munster Rugby, in collaboration with the IRFU, has officially announced the appointment of Chris Boyd as Performance Consultant.

Boyd brings a stellar coaching pedigree to Munster. His achievements include leading the Hurricanes to a Super Rugby title during his tenure as head coach from 2015 to 2018.

He further bolstered his reputation as Director of Rugby at Northampton Saints, guiding the English club back to consistent success in domestic and European knockout stages during his four-year stint starting in 2018.

In his new role, Boyd will support Interim Head Coach Ian Costello and the wider coaching staff.

His responsibilities will extend beyond the pitch, focusing on various aspects of team performance to help Munster navigate a pivotal phase in their campaign.

Interim Head Coach Ian Costello expressed his excitement about Boyd’s addition: “To be able to add someone of Chris’ experience and standing to our group is very exciting.

"We are fortunate to have an outstanding coaching team, and his presence will enhance what we are building.”

Munster Rugby CEO Ian Flanagan highlighted the significance of Boyd’s appointment.
