Melbourne Rebels have suspended Hunter Paisami and Pone Faamausili after the pair was alleged to have involved in a late-night brawl on Saturday night.

The alleged incident comes a week after Rebels' Lopeti Timani and Amanaki Mafi were each fined $15,000 for breaking team protocol as they were involved in an altercation with the latter even taken to the police custody and was later released on the bail with the case adjourned until 3rd August.

Both Paisami and Faamausili are currently under investigation for involving in an altercation with a man and the sister of the victim claimed that the two players punched from behind on her brother thereby causing him to bleed.

The woman also confirmed in her Facebook post that the victim was rushed to the hospital after he lost his consciousness and is currently undergoing treatment.

Faaumasili has already given his statement to the police, but Paisami is yet to, though no charges have been laid.

Rebels narrowly missed out a chance to reach the quarter-final in the ongoing season of Super Rugby after managing just seven wins from 16 games.
