Dragons RFC have confirmed the signing of Australian lock Max Douglas for the 2025/26 United Rugby Championship season, strengthening their forward pack with a towering and battle-tested addition.
The 25-year-old brings a wealth of experience across international competitions, having featured in both Super Rugby and Japan's League One.
Standing at 6’7” and weighing 112kg, Douglas is known for his aggressive physicality and lineout dominance.
He began his professional journey with the New South Wales Waratahs before moving to Japan to join Yokohama Canon Eagles, where he gained further acclaim for his performances in the second row.
Most recently, he spent time in the URC with the Scarlets, further sharpening his skills in the northern hemisphere.
Douglas shared his excitement about the move:

The club has already added tighthead prop Dillon Lewis from Harlequins, back-row Harry Beddall from Leicester Tigers, and flanker Thomas Young from Cardiff. Additionally, academy prospect Dylan Kelleher-Griffiths has been promoted to the senior setup, further boosting squad depth.
