Wales 10-20 England, Principality Stadium

England managed to hold off Wales as they revived their Six Nations campaign with a 10-20 win in the third round in Cardiff on Saturday.

This is first win for England at Principality Stadium in six years as they move to the third position in the table while Wales' agony continued with another defeat - days after the players threatened strike over contract issue.

England dominated in terms of possession in the opening 10 minutes and they were awarded a breakthrough after Wales were penalised for not rolling away and Owen Farrell kicked a penalty goal.

Just before the end of the opening quarter, the opening try came for England with this time Alex Dombrandt's pass sent Anthony Watson in the corner but the conversion drifted wide making it 0-8.

Leigh Halfpenny making his first start since July 2021, opened Wales' account with a penalty goal in the 21st minute as they went into the break trailing by 3-8.

Wales showed better intent at the start of the second half with Louis Rees-Zammit intercepting a pass from Max Malins to score his side's first try and Leigh Halfpenny kicked the conversion to make it 10-8.

The lead though was short lived for Wales as England prop Kyle Sinckler burrowed from close range and Farrell improved it to extend their lead to 10-15.

Courtney Lawes making a return from injury came in the 68th minute and almost made an impact but was stopped from scoring. However, eventually England got their try with five minutes left as Ollie Lawrence dived through after a period of intense pressure allowing them to seal a 10-point victory.
