Newcastle Falcons have confirmed that Marcus Tiffen has signed a new two-year contract with the Gallagher Premiership club.
The 21-year-old came through Cumbria DPP pathway and featured in the Falcons’ A-Team game against England Under-20s in 2021.
He made his first team debut for Falcons in March 2022 during the Premiership Rugby Cup game against Northampton Saints and has nine appearances for them scoring two tries.
“I’m really excited about the next few years here with the Falcons," he told the club's official website.
“I’ve been involved with Newcastle since the junior academy at age 14 or 15, and the club means a lot to me.
“I’ve got loads of close friends here, I’m looking forward to what’s ahead and it feels like a fresh start for the club with Steve Diamond coming in.
“I injured my ankle in November and had surgery so it hasn’t been the year I would have wanted, but I’m back for this week and available for selection.
“The long-term goal is to try and make a name for myself and be part of that senior 23 week in, week out, but I know we’ve got great competition here and those things have to be earned.”
Newcastle Falcons are languishing at the bottom of the Premiership table having lost all their 14 matches.
