Premiership Rugby has announced that the final round of the Gallagher Premiership clash between London Irish and Bristol Bears has been cancelled.

The decision follows after the London Irish squad members returned positive cases for Covid-19 in the latest round of testing and are unable to field a matchday 23 squad.

"Our priority is the health and safety of everyone involved with London Irish and Bristol Bears and we will give the clubs any support they need. We wish everyone affected a full and speedy recovery," read a Premiership Rugby spokesperson.

"Neither Premiership Rugby nor the club will be naming any of the players or staff involved and we'd ask everyone to respect their privacy."

A Premiership Rugby panel will now be convened to determine the allocation of points and a further announcement will be made in due course though it is expected that Bristol will be awarded four points which will confirm them a top place finish while London Irish are set to be handed two points.
