Leinster Rugby and the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) have confirmed that Leo Cullen has signed a new two-year contract as head coach.

The announcement solidifies Cullen's role in guiding Leinster through its ambitious journey to further success.

Leinster Rugby CEO Shane Nolan expressed his satisfaction with the deal, emphasizing Cullen's integral role in the team's growth.

"Moving Leo away from his previous rolling one-year contracts was a priority for me. His leadership has brought significant achievements to Leinster Rugby," Nolan stated.

Cullen has led the club to five trophies, making him the most successful coach in Leinster's history. Under his guidance, nearly 100 players have debuted, with the majority emerging from Leinster's development pathways.

Despite falling short in key finals over the last three years, Nolan highlighted Cullen's ability to maintain the club's competitive edge and foster a culture of excellence.

Since his appointment in August 2015, Cullen has consistently driven Leinster to the forefront of European rugby. As a former player with 32 caps for Ireland and 221 caps for Leinster, including captaining three Heineken Champions Cup-winning squads, Cullen brings a deep understanding of the club’s ecosystem.

Nolan emphasized, “Leo uniquely understands Leinster's DNA, from its communities to its culture, making this extension an easy decision.”

Leinster has already made a strong start this season, topping the BKT United Rugby Championship table.
