Leinster Rugby have officially announced that fly-half Sam Prendergast has signed a new contract with the province, solidifying his commitment to the team.
Prendergast, who earned his first senior contract with Leinster in 2023 after progressing through the academy, has rapidly ascended to the role of first-choice fly-half.
His debut in April 2022 marked the beginning of a promising career, during which he has effectively managed competition from teammates such as Ciaran Frawley.
The departures of Ross Byrne and Harry Byrne—who is currently on loan at Bristol Bears—have further highlighted Prendergast's importance within the squad.
On the international stage, Prendergast's trajectory has been equally impressive. After starring for Ireland's Grand Slam-winning Under-20s team and participating in the Emerging Ireland tour, he made his senior debut under coach Andy Farrell against Argentina in November.
Subsequently, he earned starting positions against Fiji and Australia, maintaining his role as the starting fly-half for the majority of the Six Nations tournament.
Leinster are at the top of the United Rugby Championship table with 12 wins from 13 matches.
