A late blitz by Mark McCall's Saracens allowed them to overcome Northampton Saints' challenge at the Allianz Park to secure a 27-12 win during the 2016-17 English Premiership clash on Saturday.

50 minutes into the game, the Sarries were lagging behind by three points. However, a try by replacement hooker Jamie George, a penalty try and a couple of penalties contributed 18 points to help them secure a 15-point victory.

The first-half was an even kicking contest between the two rival fly-halfs Alex Lozowski and Stephen Myler with each of them slotting three penalties each.

Another penalty by Myler on the 50th minute gave the visitors a slender edge. However, a couple of yellow card offences reduced the Saints down to 14-men on a couple of occasions, allowing the hosts to make a stellar comeback in the match.

The win has now positioned Saracens second in the points table behind Bath with both teams accumulating 14 points from three round-robin matches.
