La Rochelle head coach Ronan O'Gara has been served a 10-week suspension for “harming the best interests of rugby”.

A statement released by Ligue Nationale de Rugby did not mention the incident but the former Ireland international was also fined 15,000 euros with a further 5,000 euros suspended in addition to the ban.

O'Gara was cited for his criticism on refereeing and the organisation of the championship.

As a result, the 45-year-old is set to be unavailable for his side until 30th January.

This was also O'Gara's fourth suspension in a year as in November 2021, he was banned for two weeks for showing disrespect to the official following La Rochelle's game against Toulon.

He also served a two-week ban for challenging the decision of the match officials and in September he has suspended for six weeks for action against official.

La Rochelle are positioned second in the Top 14 table with six wins from 10 matches.
