Toulon will miss the services of New Zealand international Malakai Fekitoa for six weeks following a knee injury that he sustained during the Champions Cup clash against Montpellier in December.

Fekitoa left the field at the end of the third quarter in the game which Montpellier went on to win 34-13 at GGL Stadium and has underwent a surgery since then.

The 26-year-old has played for All Blacks 24 times and played for Auckland province between 2012 and 2017. He has also represented Super Rugby sides Blues and Highlanders in the past before joining Toulon in 2017.

Since his move to the French side, Fekitoa made 30 appearances for Toulon in which he scored eight tries.

Apart from Fekitoa, lock Swan Rebbadj will also be sidelined for a month following an ankle injury.

Toulon are positioned 11th in the Top 14 table with five wins from 14 games while they are languishing at the bottom of Pool 5 table in the Heineken Champions Cup with a solitary win from four games.
