Karl Dickson Interview

1. How do you think the harlequins are doing this year?

I think we have improved from last year and have progressed further in both cup competitions, and we still have a amlin quarter final to look forward to this weekend. even though we were disappointed not to make the final of the LV cup, i feel we have a progressed as a team.

2. What has been your career highlight so far?

My highlight was signing for harlequins and getting to play in the premiership.

3. Who is your rugby hero and why?

I will be honest I never really followed rugby as a youngster i was more into football and didn't really start playing till I was 12.

4. Who was your biggest influence in rugby growing up?

My biggest influence was probably my dad as he used to come watch me in games and always said if I put my mind to rugby i could succeed.

5. What tips would you give to youngsters?

I would say never give up and if you want something enough and work at it, there is always a chance of getting to the top.

6. Who is the toughest player you have played against?

This was when I was at Bedford and even though he has been forgotten by England now, Shaun Perry was a very tough opponent.

7. Who is the toughest player you have played with?

This is easy would have to be Junior Paramore, very hard man.

8. How did you start playing rugby?

I started playing rugby at age 12 at Barnard Castle School, which was a very rugby based school.

9. If any player could join the Harlequins who would it be?

This is tough as there are soo many good players out there, but i would have to say Richie McCaw as hes such a influential player and would be great to play with him.

What do you do in your spare time when not playing rugby? Hang with friends, cinema, learning a language and I love to travel.

Finally “ if you had a message to say to your fans who have been supporting the harlequins week in week out, what would you say to all of them?

Message to the fans - I would say thanks for coming to the games and your support is much appreciated, also that I know sometimes things don't go to plan always but we are a young team and if we can stay together as a group I feel we can reward the fans with silverware in the next couple of years.
