The British & Irish Lions have called up Leinster and Ireland back Jamie Osborne as cover, following a knee injury sustained by full-back Blair Kinghorn during the 36–24 win over the Brumbies in Canberra.

Kinghorn left the field limping in the 25th minute and is now awaiting scan results to determine the severity.

“Blair is okay, he's not too bad. He's actually gone for a scan as we speak now,” said head coach Andy Farrell, adding that Kinghorn remains in “good spirits.”

The Lions camp is now bracing for news, preparing contingency plans based on the scan outcomes.

With Elliot Daly already ruled out earlier in the tour due to a fractured forearm, specialist full-back options were limited. Kinghorn and Hugo Keenan were the only primary choices, with Marcus Smith offering occasional coverage. Osborne’s addition brings much-needed depth and reassurance.

Osborne, 23, will fly into Brisbane on Saturday after being withdrawn from Ireland’s camp in Portugal, where he was preparing to face Portugal.

Though not officially part of the Test squad, he will join training sessions, bolstering backline preparations before the final warm-up match against the Australia & New Zealand Invitational XV in Adelaide.

The Lions will be facing Australia in the first of the three Tests on 19th June.
