Jaguares continued their impressive form in the ongoing season of Super Rugby as they edged out Chiefs 21-16 in the quarter-final at Estadio Jose Amalfitani.

This will also be the first time Jaguares have reached the semi-final of Super Rugby where they will face Brumbies.

Pablo Matera's first minute try set the tone for the Argentinan side as they raced to a 5-0 lead. Joaquin Diaz Bonilla missed out on the conversion but kicked a 22nd-minute penalty goal to stretch their lead to eight points.

The Chiefs had a better response in the second quarter with a touchdown from Lachlan Boshier followed by a conversion and a penalty from Jack Debreczeni as the teams went into the break with an 8-10 scoreline.

The visitors extended their momentum after the break with back to back penalty apiece from Debreczeni and Marty McKenzie but Jaguares ensured there is no slip up this time as Matias Moroni attacked Chiefs and crossed whitewash.

Joaquin Diaz Bonilla ensured the momentum was with the hosts as he followed with the conversion and kicked two more penalties to complete a terrific five point win for Jaguares.
