Italy captain Sergio Parisse heads to Toulon

Toulon have secured the signing of Italy skipper Sergio Parisse on a one-year deal for the 2019/20 season.

The 35-year-old recently ended his 15-year association with Stade Francais making over 250 appearances for them in which he amassed 238 points.

He also enjoyed Top 14 titles with Stade Francais in 2006/07 and 2014/15 seasons and also went on to win the European Challenge Cup in 2016/17 season.

The 6ft 5in number eight Parisse is the most capped player for Italy with 138 Tests and is the fourth most capped player worldwide. He was also nominated for the IRB International Player of the Year in 2008 and 2013.

Toulon finished ninth in the 2018/19 season of Top 14 with 12 wins from 26 games.
