Scorecard

Harlequins scored first half tries as they went on to defeat Grenoble 38-20 in their European Rugby Challenge Cup clash at Twickenham Stoop on Saturday.

The win means Harlequins continue to remain at the top of Pool 5 with their third win from five matches while Grenoble are at third with nine points.

Antonin Berruyer kick-started the proceedings for Grenoble with an early try in just second minute but the conversion went wayward. The Harlequins though responded back strongly and took control of the game when Danny Care (10'), Mike Brown (15') and Cadan Murley (19') all went over the line in a span of nine minutes.

With Marcus Smith converting all the three tries, the Quins took a 21-3 lead by the end of the first quarter.

The Quins also went on to claim the try bonus point inside the first half with Max Crumpton dotting down in between tries from fullback Gervais Cordin that saw the first half end at 28-17 in favour of the home side.

Fly-half Ben Lucas narrowed down the gap to eight points with a penalty early in the second half but that remained their final points in the game for Grenoble while the Quins managed to get their fifth try in the final minute through Alex Dombrandt to complete a 18 point victory.
