Growing injury crisis as Sixways

Worcester Warriors boss Richard Hill admits he may have to call for reinforcements as his side struggle for numbers in key positions.

Prop Matt Mullin and number six Neil Best were both forced off the field during his side's 16-7 victory over Bath at Sixways on Friday.

The loss of the duo compounds what was already a worrying injury situation.

"The two positions where we could have done without injuries was in the back row and at loose-head prop," Hill told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"It was a costly match for us in that regard - it was a brutal game and quite a few Bath players went down too.

"We were already down two loose-heads with Ceri Jones out after a shoulder operation and George Porter having appendicitis.

"Matt will also be out now with a damaged shoulder. We might have to look at if we can bring people in. Oliver Tomaszczyk is also missing with a hamstring injury, so we are light in that department at the moment.

"Neil also looks like he might have broken a forearm."

There is better news regarding scrum-half Shaun Perry who was substituted at half-time due to a knee injury.

The former England number nine will be put through a light workout program during the week with the hope that he will be fit for the Warriors' crunch clash with Exeter on Saturday.
