Gloucester Rugby sign Matt Garvey on short-term deal

Gloucester Rugby have confirmed the signing of Matt Garvey on a short-term deal.

Garvey started his professional rugby career with London Irish in 2009 and moved to Bath Rugby in 2013 making over 150 appearances for both the clubs combined.

He will head to Kingsholm to be part of Gloucester's remainder of the 2019/20 season.

"I’m really relishing the opportunity to join Gloucester Rugby.

"I know George will be driving the Club forward, and I’m really excited to play my part in that in the coming months."

Gloucester head coach George Skivington is confident that Garvey's experience will definitely benefit the club as they aim to complete the 2019/20 season on a high.

"We are really happy that Matt has agreed to join Gloucester Rugby.

"Matt is a fierce competitor and a true professional, which is exactly the type of player we want in our squad.

"Through with his leadership, experience, and power, he will be a valuable asset to us for the remainder of the season."

Gloucester are positioned ninth in the Gallagher Premiership table with four wins from 13 games and will face Worcester Warriors next on 15th August at Sixways when the tournament resumes.
