Melbourne Rebels have announced that centre Glen Vaihu has signed a new deal at least until the end of the 2024 season.

The 20-year-old made his Rebels debut during the 2021 season of Super Rugby AU and has gone on to play 20 games for the club including 14 matches this season.

His younger brother David was recently selected in the Junior Wallabies squad for the upcoming Oceania Rugby U20’s Championships in July.

“I’m just extremely grateful I get to be a part of the Rebels for the next two years,” said Vaihu.

“I’ve learnt so much from the players and coaching staff and although we didn’t get the results we had hoped for this season, we’re building towards something amazing and I’m so excited to be a part of it.

“The Rebels have given me the opportunity to grow with my rugby straight out of school, so to do that alongside my brother, it’s been great. It’s been a dream of ours to play on the professional stage together and I can’t wait for what’s yet come in 2023.

“This Club has given so much to us and we can’t wait to give back to the Rebels.”

Rebels finished the Super Rugby Pacific season at 10th place after managing four wins from 14 matches.
