Glasgow Warriors will kick off their preparations for the 2025/26 season by hosting Northampton Saints at Scotstoun Stadium on Friday, 12th September, in what promises to be a high-quality encounter in The Famous Grouse Pre-Season Friendly.

The fixture will be the Warriors’ only home pre-season match, with kick-off scheduled for 7.30pm.

Head Coach Franco Smith sees the match as a key benchmark in the club’s pre-season plans, especially against such formidable opposition.

“We look forward to welcoming Northampton to Scotstoun this September, in what will be a key milestone in our pre-season preparations,” he said.

Smith praised the Saints' strength and recent performances across both the Gallagher Premiership and Investec Champions Cup, where they finished runners-up last season.

“Their performances both in the Premiership and Investec Champions Cup last season showed the strength in depth that their squad possesses, with their brand of rugby set to provide us with a valuable test in both attack and defence ahead of the new season.”

The fixture also offers an opportunity for Glasgow’s young and academy players to push for first-team selection.

“The match will also be an important opportunity for our academy and young players to put their hands up for selection,” Smith explained.

He also cited the positive impact of rising stars Jare Oguntibeju and Macenzzie Duncan, who impressed last season after earning game time in similar pre-season fixtures.
