Wales head coach Warren Gatland has reinforced his coaching staff ahead of the 2025 Six Nations, adding former international prop Adam Jones and performance specialist Andy McCann to his team.

Former Wales and British & Irish Lions prop Adam Jones, a veteran of 95 international caps and three Grand Slam victories, has joined the coaching setup on secondment from Harlequins. Jones will work closely with forwards coach Jonathan Humphreys, focusing on the scrum and forward play.

Jones expressed his excitement about the opportunity: "First of all, I would like to thank Harlequins for the opportunity to join the Wales coaching setup for the Six Nations.

"I’m looking forward to working with Gats and Humphs, two big influences on my career as a player – it’s all moved quickly, but I’m looking forward to it."

Performance specialist Andy McCann, who previously worked with the Wales team from 2009 to 2017, returns in an advisory role.

Renowned for his expertise in mental skills and player performance, McCann will support the squad in sharpening their mindset and enhancing their overall performance throughout the tournament.

Speaking about the appointments, Gatland emphasized their importance in improving the team’s preparation: "I’m delighted that Adam and Andy will be joining us for the Six Nations.

"With less than two weeks to our first game against France in Paris, we will be working hard as a group to maximize our preparation and start our campaign on a high."

Wales’ Six Nations campaign begins with a challenging opener against France in Paris on January 31.
