Scotland fly-half Finn Russell says winning the Six Nations with his country would stand above every other honour in his career as the team heads into the final round still in contention for the 2026 title.

Finn Russell Says Six Nations Title Would Be Career Peak

Russell has already collected major honours in club rugby, including league titles and European success, but he made clear that lifting the Six Nations trophy with Scotland would carry greater significance. He said representing Scotland and winning with the national side would be the high point of his playing career.

"I have never been in a position where that's been an option to win the championship,"said Russell.

"I've won a few titles, I've been in finals before. I think winning something with Scotland, especially the Six Nations, would be definitely the peak of my career.

"When you start playing for Scotland, you always want to win it, obviously. We've never put ourselves in a position where we can win it. Now we're in that position, it's all to play for this weekend. It will definitely be the top point in my career if we can win.

The experienced fly-half was speaking after Scotland kept their title hopes alive with a dramatic victory over France, a result that pushed the championship race into the final weekend.

Scotland Six Nations Title Hopes Go To Final Round

The standings mean Scotland still need a major performance in Dublin and also require results elsewhere to go in their favour if they are to claim the championship.

Russell said Scotland have never really been in this position during his international career, which adds to the significance of the moment. He also suggested he may be in contact with friends in the England squad ahead of France’s final-round meeting.

"As for my England pals, I'll be texting them, don't worry. I think, again, England and us are very different teams. France and England are very different.

"I could try and give them some tips, but whether or not that's going to suit their game plan or not, I'm not sure. I think we'll get to that when it comes on Saturday night."
