Fijian Drua scrum-half Frank Lomani has been handed a six-week suspension following his red card incident in the recently concluded Super Rugby Pacific game against Melbourne Rebels.

The 27-year-old was sent-off at the end of the third quarter for deliberately elbowing Rebels lock Josh Canham in the back of the head and was the second Fijian Drua player to be red carded in the game as they lost the encounter 21-40.

Lomani will now miss the remaining six league games of the season for Drua and his suspension will be effective until 26th May.

Incidentally, Drua alleged that Lomani was racially abused by "one or two individuals" in the crowd as he was leaving the field following the red card following which Rebels responded that they are investigating the incident.

Meanwhile, Jone Koroiduadua, who was also the second player from Fijian Drua to be sent off in the 75th minute has been handed a two-week suspension after proving guilty of making in contact with the head of an opponent player.

Fijian Drua are positioned seventh in the Super Rugby Pacific table after managing just three wins from seven matches.
