Aviva Premiership leaders Saracens have been told that fly-half Owen Farrell should be back in training this with no serious damage to his foot.

He was withdrawn at half-time of their 28-24 win over Northampton Saints on Saturday but has suffered no lasting damage.

"Owen Farrell will resume training towards the end of this week," Saracens said on their official website.

"The Saracens and England fly-half sustained a foot injury during the match against Northampton Saints on Sunday, but scans have indicated no serious damage."

The news is a boost for the club, who face a huge Heineken Cup semi-final against Clermont Auvergne at Twickenham on 26th April.

In Farrell's absence, Marcelo Bosch and Charlie Hodgson took over the kicking duties as they built up a 10-point lead at the top of the table that all but guarantees them a home semi-final.
