Exeter Chiefs have announced that England international Immanuel Feyi-Waboso has signed a long term contract extension with the Gallagher Premiership club.

The 21-year-old started his professional rugby career with Cardiff in 2021 before joining Wasps a year later. Following Wasps' move into administration, Feyi-Waboso joined Exeter Chiefs in October 2022 and has been a key performer this season with six tries.

He made his England debut during the recently concluded Six Nations tournament this year and has three appearances with Steve Borthwick's men finishing third in the table.

Exeter Chiefs director of rugby is pleased with Feyi-Waboso committing his long term future with the club.

“We’re really pleased with Immanuel’s re-signing. People are probably aware we’ve been looking to bring in young players to reduce the age of our squad in more recent times," said Baxter in a statement released by the club.

“With what happened at Wasps, when we looked at their players the individuals we looked at mainly were those we saw as the talented players in their academy. We looked at a lot of their Premiership Cup games – saw Immanuel, Greg [Fisilau] and Alfie Bell standing out.

“It’s great to know that he’s going to be here long term and hopefully we can really help him with his rugby development so that he can go on to get many more England caps and see what else he can achieve down the line.

"So, it’s a very exciting signing for the club and bodes very well for the future.”

Exeter Chiefs are positioned fifth in the Gallagher Premiership table with seven wins from 12 matches.
