Exeter Chiefs have announced that prop Sam Nixon will be leaving the club at the end of the ongoing season.

The 25-year-old joined Exeter Chiefs in 2021 and has featured in 10 games for the club across Heineken Champions Cup, Premiership Rugby Cup and Gallagher Premiership.

Prior to his association with the Chiefs, Nixon also featured for Bath Rugby and Bayonne. He will now head back to France after signing a two-year contract with Pro D2 side Grenoble.

"It has been an absolute pleasure for me to pull on the Chiefs jersey," he told the club's official website.

"The club, the people and the supporters have been fantastic from day one and even though it will only have been a short stay, it's been an incredible experience for me."

He will follow the likes of Jonny Hill, Tom O'Flaherty, Sam Hidalgo-Clyne, Jack Walsh, Sam Skinner and Don Armand on the players who will be leaving the club at the end of ongoing campaign.

Exeter Chiefs are positioned sixth in the Gallagher Premiership table with 12 wins from 22 games.
