Exeter Chiefs have announced that Australia international Scott Sio has signed a new contract with the Gallagher Premiership club.

Sio joined Exeter Chiefs in 2022 and has already played 41 times for the club. He has also played in 11 Premiership games for Rob Baxter's men in the ongoing campaign.

He now follows the likes of fly-half Harvey Skinner, winger Immanuel Feyi-Waboso and scrum-half Niall Armstrong in the players who have committed their future with the club ahead of the next season.

Prior to his association with Exeter, the 32-year-old played for Brumbies featuring 143 times for them. His Wallabies debut came in 2013 and has 74 Test caps to his name while also featuring in the 2015 Rugby World Cup final against New Zealand.

“I’m really excited to be staying on at Chiefs and to see what the future holds for this group," he told the club's official website.

“There are lots of younger players coming through and I hope to continue to be part of their development while also growing as a player and person here in Exeter.

“The club wants to contend for trophies and be successful, which is something I want to be a part of and is a big reason for my re-signing.”

Exeter Chiefs are positioned seventh in the Gallagher Premiership table with nine wins from 16 matches.
