Bath Rugby has confirmed that Ewan Richards has signed a new two-year contract, securing his future with the club until 2027.

The versatile 22-year-old forward, who progressed through Bath’s academy system, has become an integral part of the squad since making his senior debut against Harlequins in 2021.

A promising talent, Richards has been a standout performer in Premiership Rugby Cup campaigns, captaining the side over the last two seasons.

Expressing his enthusiasm about the contract extension, Richards said:

"I’m really happy to be staying here at Bath. I’m surrounded by world-class players and coaches and really excited to see what the future holds and where this team goes."

Bath Rugby’s coaching staff has praised Richards’ development over the past two and a half years, highlighting his growth as both a player and a leader.

“It’s great to see that Ewan has developed as a player and a leader over the last two-and-a-half years.

"Captaining the Premiership Rugby Cup team for the last two seasons, in line with what we are about as a group, tough to beat and all about the squad. Ewan’s best is definitely yet to come and his versatility will be very important to the squad in the coming years.”

Bath hold the top place in the Gallagher Premiership table with nine wins from 11 matches.
