England Women beat Ireland in thrilling 12-10 encounter

Rochelle Clark grabbed the spotlight on Sunday as she became the most capped England player as the women's team completed a 12-10 victory over Ireland Women on Sunday.

The 35-year-old made her 115th international appearance overtaking prop Jason Leonard and is now levelled with Scotland's Donna Kennedy for most games played in women's rugby.

She also scored the opening try of the game in the 34th minute while Ireland fly-half Nora Stapleton reduced the gap to two points at half-time with a successful penalty kick.

Stapleton carried the momentum on to the second half and scored a converted try to take a five-point lead for Ireland but Izzy Noel-Smith's try and Katy McLean's conversion ensured England edged out their opponent by two points.

The win has also taken England to number two in World Rugby Rankings and now they take take on New Zealand and Canada in their remaining fixtures of Old Mutual Wealth series.
