England 27 - 14 Argentina, Twickenham Stadium
Scorecard

Despite an early red card to wing Elliot Daly, England came up with an impressive performance at Twickenham Stadium to pull off a 27-14 victory over Argentina on Saturday.

Eddie Jones' men had a healthy lead of 16-0 in the first 30 minutes but Argentina's fightback did push the 2003 World Champions only for them to dominate most of the second half to extend their winning streak to 13 games.

Things did not start as per the plan for England as Daly became the fifth player for his country to be sent off after he clattered into Leonardo Senatore when he was looking to grab the ball. French referee Pascal Gauzere with assistance from TMO decided to hand a red card to Daly leaving England to play with one man less for the remaining 75 minutes of the game.

The first seven minutes of the game was very intense with Senatore, Juan Martin Hernandez and Santiago Gonzalez Iglesias left the field to assess their head injuries while Daly was given a red card following a penalty from Owen Farrell.

In the 12th minute, Farrell kicked the second penalty for England to take the lead to 6-0.

Another collision involving Juan Pablo Estelles on wing Jonny May resulted in another penalty for England and Farrell accepted it gracefully taking the score to 9-0.

The 28th minute of the game saw Chris Robshaw offload one to Tom Wood that looked a certain try but Matias Orlando knocked it on deliberately only for a penalty try to be awarded. Farrell's conversion ensured England took a 16-0 lead. Orlando's act also attracted a yellow card.

Billy Vunipola left the field for England with an injury in the 38th minute and Dan Cole's sin-bin close to half-time saw the home team go down to 13 men which was capitalised by Argentina replacement Facundo Isa, who strolled across the post in the extra time and Hernandez's conversion helped them reduce the gap to nine points.

Full-back Santiago Cordero carried Argentina's momentum into the second half when he crossed over in the 41st minute and Hernandez's conversion brought down the difference to just two points.

However, Farrell kicked two more penalties to stretch the lead to eight points for England. The decisive moment in the game came when May riding on an off-load from Wood scored a try in the 67th minute to seal a 13-point lead.

Things went from bad to worse for Argentina when replacement Enrique Pieretto Heilan was red-carded in the 75th minute for a stamp on Joe Marler. The 13-point victory meant England are yet to lose a game this year.
