Racing 92 have announced the signing of England and Saracens fly-half Owen Farrell ahead of the 2024/25 season.

As reported earlier, Farrell, who recently took a break from international rugby to focus on his mental well-being was linked with the French club which has former England coach Stuart Lancaster at the helm. Farrell himself made his England debut under Lancaster.

He will link up with the French club from 1st July.

The 32-year-old has been with Saracens since his professional rugby debut in 2008 and has featured in over 200 games for Saracens across all competitions, winning six Premiership titles and three European Rugby Champions Cups.

He was appointed the captain of Saracens in 2021 and remained committed to them when they faced relegation in 2020 for series of salary cap breaches and helped them win the second tier Championship competition in the 2020/21 season that saw them making a return back to the Premiership.

Farrell made his England debut in 2012 and has been capped 112 times. He was also part of the side that clinched the Grand Slam in 2016 and the squad that reached the final of the 2019 Rugby World Cup and led them to the semi-final of the 2023 World Cup where they lost to the eventual champions South Africa with a 16-15 margin.

He also was part of the British and Irish Lions squad in the 2013, 2017 and 2021 tours with his father Andy Farrell appointed the head coach for the upcoming 2025 tour of Australia.
