Dragons have confirmed that scrum-half Lewis Jones will join the club on a short-term loan deal from Cardiff Blues.

A product of Cardiff Academy, the 28-year-old has racked up over 100 appearances for the Blues and went on to sign his first senior deal in the 2012/2013 season.

He also became the youngest player to reach 50 caps for the Cardiff Blues in 2013 and has now linked up with Dragons during their pre-season preparations.

Dragons director of rugby Dean Ryan is delighted to have the services of Jones and is confident that his experience with Cardiff will benefit the club in the new campaign.

“We are pleased that Lewis has joined us, he brings a wealth of experience to the group and we look forward to working with him," said Ryan.

“It’s a great opportunity for Lewis, we would like to thank Cardiff for their support and we all look forward to seeing him in a Dragons shirt this season.”

Dragons will be facing Leicester Tigers and Wasps on 4th and 12th September respectively during their pre-season fixtures.
