Dragons fullback Jordan Williams is set to be on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury during the recently concluded European Rugby Challenge Cup clash against RC Enisei at Kuban Stadium.

Williams suffered the blow during the 35th minute of the clash and was forced off the field during their 22-49 win over the French side.

The 26-year-old will now go under the knife and will undergo rehabilitation with the club.

Dragons head coach Dean Ryan expressed disappointment on the news.

“It’s incredibly disappointing for any player. Jordan was playing some of the best rugby that I have seen from him and his counter-attacking is up there with the best,” said Ryan.

“The timing hurts us as a club because he is so influential in lots of things that we have been good at.

“The key is to have the surgery and start looking forward on what is always a long journey back from that sort of injury."

With two wins from as many games in the Challenge Cup, Dragons occupy the pole position in Pool 1. They hold the sixth place in Conference A table of Pro 14 with two wins from six matches and will face Zebre Rugby next at Rodney Parade on 30th November.
