Devoto To Pass On J.P. Morgan 7s Experience

19-year-old Bath Rugby full-back Ollie Devoto has already played in one J.P. Morgan Asset Management Premiership Rugby 7s series and he now keen to help the side’s debutants hit the ground running in this year’s event.

The youngster was part of a Bath side that only missed out on the final last summer on points difference and enjoyed a successful season having secured the Six Nations and Junior World Championship titles with England Under-20s.

This year’s squad features the likes of young talents such as Ollie Evans, Max Clark and Max Northcote-Green and having been in their shoes 12 months ago Devoto believes his advice can help them prosper.

“I played in the J.P. Morgan Premiership Rugby 7s last year and I didn’t have too much of a role, it was mainly just to welcome me into the season but I feel this year I need to step up to the plate a bit more and I am really looking forward to it,” he said.

"I went to school with some of the lads that are doing the same thing that I did last year so I know what they are going through and I know what they are thinking and we are a tight group.

"I think 7s is a nice way to start the season and you can go out there and enjoy it and it is fantastic to go to places like Gloucester.

"Our first game is against Gloucester and I don’t think there is any better way to start the competition. It is going to be physical and it always tough to go and play in front of their home crowd."

The J.P Morgan Premiership Rugby 7s kicks off on 1st August at Kingsholm with rounds at Franklin's Gardens and Allianz Park and the Final at The Recreation Ground. For tickets and more information visit: www.jpmorgan7s.com or follow @jpmorganrugby7s
