Head coach Leo Cullen has selected five uncapped players in the match-day squad for Leinster Rugby’s United Rugby Championship game against Zebre Parma at the Aviva Stadium.

Full-back Hugo McLaughlin and prop Jerry Cahir earn their first senior starts, while prop Alex Usanov, fly-half Casper Gabriel and hooker Bobby Sheehan are named on the bench.

Hooker Bobby Sheehan is the younger brother of Ireland international and Lions tourist Dan Sheehan.

With 22 Leinster players on international duty, Cullen has made 14 changes from the side that suffered a 31-14 defeat by rivals Munster Rugby at Croke Park.

Max Deegan is the only player retained from that match. The new look squad features wing Joshua Kenny earning his first start after debuting off the bench against the Sharks, and Andrew Osborne on the opposite wing.

Veteran scrum-half Luke McGrath captains the side, with Harry Byrne restored at fly-half. In the pack, France prop Rabah Slimani starts at tight-head and Springbok lock RG Snyman comes off the bench.

Leinster, the reigning URC champions, have lost three of their first four games in the current campaign and are looking to reset against Zebre. Cullen emphasised the importance of building momentum with this youthful squad.

Leinster XV: McLaughlin; Kenny, Cooney, Tector, A Osborne; Byrne, McGrath; Cahir, McKee, Slimani, Deeny, Mangan, Deegan, Penny, Culhane.

Replacements: B Sheehan, Usanov, Sparrow, Snyman, Soroka, Connors, Gunne, Gabriel.
