Ireland's interim head coach, Simon Easterby, has commended hooker Dan Sheehan for his outstanding return to form following a six-month absence due to an ACL injury.
Sheehan's performances have been instrumental for Ireland, particularly during the Six Nations campaign, showcasing his resilience and skill.
Easterby acknowledged Sheehan’s dedication and hard work in regaining full fitness and form after his injury setback.
"He's been pretty impressive since he came back from his injury," Easterby stated, emphasizing the remarkable progress the hooker has made since his return.
He highlighted the value of experienced players like Sheehan, particularly in maintaining composure in crucial moments.
Reflecting on his journey back to the field, Sheehan expressed confidence in his recovery, asserting that his injury is no longer a concern.
"I feel very good with the body and my knee. I don't think about it at all," he said.
While he acknowledged that match fitness and rugby intelligence take time to rebuild, he remains optimistic.
"The fitness and rugby IQ will come back over time. But I don’t feel limited at all."
