Connacht 15-8 Worcester Warriors, The Sportsground
Scorecard

Connacht maintained their winning streak in the ongoing European Rugby Challenge Cup campaign after they went on to defeat Worcester Warriors by 15-8 at The Sportsground on Saturday.

Eoghan Masterson on his first game as captain for Connacht made an early impact when he went past the line in the fifth minute but Jack Carty missed out on the conversion. The fly-half did make amends with his first penalty 15 minutes later as Connacht ended the first half with a lead of 8-0.

Worcester Warriors, who were struggling to get their first points finally managed a breakthrough when David Denton split the defence of Connacht allowing Josh Adams to go past the line as they reduced the gap to three points.

However, the Irish side once again came up with a strong response when replacement Kieran Marmion, who came in the 54th minute straightaway created an impact allowing Matt Healy to crossover three minutes later while Carty slotted the conversion this time to increase the home side's lead to 10 points.

Australia's Jono Lance making his first start for Worcester kicked a penalty in the 74th minute but the visitors succumbed to a seven point defeat. Despite the defeat, Worcester Warriors are second in Pool 5 that is being topped by Connacht.
