Cipriani meets with Sharks

Sale Sharks are in the race to bring Danny Cipriani back to the Aviva Premiership, according to reports.

The 24-year-old is plying his trade for the Melbourne Rebels but has recently stated that he still harbours international ambitions for England. His prospects of pulling on the red rose shirt would greatly increase if he was back in the Premiership and according to The Times, Cipriani's representatives have already met with Sale's chief executive Steve Diamond.

Cipriani moved to the Rebels back in 2010 and has since being dogged with off-field strife, but although he has just seven caps to his name, he has long been regarded as one of the most naturally talented players available to Stuart Lancaster.

The Rebels fly-half has also had discussions with the Leicester Tigers, according to the newspaper, but they have opted to bring in London Irish half-back Dan Bowden and have also re-signed IRB Young Player of the Year George Ford. And the Exiles are also said to be interested in signing the former Wasps fly-half.
