Chiefs have announced that loose forward Kaylum Boshier has signed a new contract with the club for the 2023 season.

Boshier made his professional rugby debut with provincial side Taranaki in 2018 and played his first Super Rugby game for Chiefs in 2021. Since then he has gone on to play 13 Super Rugby games for Chiefs.

A former New Zealand Under 20 player, Boshier also captained the New Zealand cricket team during the 2018 Under-19 World Cup.

"Every chance to put the jersey on is special and I hope to do my family, friends and the Chiefs region proud," he told the club's official website.

"There’s no better feeling than running out at FMG Stadium Waikato in front of our fans."

Gallagher Chiefs Head Coach Clayton McMillan is pleased with Boshier extending his stay with the club.

"Kaylum is an unsung hero in the Gallagher Chiefs. He is a well-respected team man, has excellent leadership potential and his ability to play all three loose forward positions is highly advantageous.

"He has always risen to the occasion when given opportunities, and I look forward to him playing a significant role over the coming seasons."
