Chiefs will lose the services of wing Solomon Alaimalo for the remainder of the Super Rugby Aotearoa competition following a shoulder injury.

Alaimalo was one of the try-scorer for Chiefs during the previous round game against Blues but left the field immediately after that in the 48th minute after a collision with his counterpart Caleb Clarke.

Warren Gatland's men had a 14-17 lead by the 50th minute but Finlay Christie's try in the 55th minute ensured Blues went on to register a four-point victory.

This was also Chiefs' sixth consecutive defeat in the tournament as they are languishing at the bottom of the table and will face Crusaders and Hurricanes in their final two rounds.
