Chiefs have announced that prop Aidan Ross and hooker Samisoni Taukei’aho have signed new contracts with the club.

Ross started his career with provincial side Bay of Plenty in 2015 with his Super Rugby debut for Chiefs coming two years later. The 25-year-old has made 43 Super Rugby appearances for the Hamilton based club and has now extended his stay with the club for further two years.

He also is qualified to represent Scotland through his paternal grandfather.

“I’m grateful to be able to continue to play for a Club and region I am passionate about," he told the club's official website.

"There is a great bunch of fellas I go to work with each day, and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.

"I’m looking forward to continue developing my game and play for this Club.”

Meanwhile, Taukei'aho captained Tonga Under 15 for the tour of New Zealand and made his Chiefs debut in 2017 making 44 appearances in Super Rugby. He has now signed a new deal with the club until the end of 2024 season.

“I have really enjoyed my last four years here at the Chiefs. The environment has been outstanding. Culture is massive no matter where you are from, as a Chief we are one big family,” Taukei’aho said.

“I’m looking forward to being a part of this amazing Club for the next three years and being the best player, I can be on and off the field.”

Chiefs started their Super Rugby Trans Tasman campaign with a 20-19 win over Western Force at HBF Park and will face Brumbies next at FMG Stadium Waikato on 22nd May.
