Northampton Saints lock Courtney Lawes will miss the remainder of the Six Nations campaign for England following a calf strain.

The 30-year-old played 76 minutes during the third round of the game against Wales in Cardiff before he was helped off the field with the injury.

Lawes underwent a scan on Monday and is now expected to be out of action for at least four weeks. He will undergo the rehabilitation with his club.

The 6 ft 7 in lock has featured in 73 Tests including two for the British and Irish Lions that came during the 2017 tour of New Zealand.

England suffered a 21-13 defeat against Wales last weekend and are positioned second in the Six Nations table with 10 points. They will be facing Italy and Scotland in the final two rounds of the tournament on 9th and 16th March respectively with both the games scheduled at Twickenham Stadium in London.
